Don’t Sleep On You

I watched a podcast last night in which the well-known guest shared some timely food for thought:

The happiest people are those who keep learning, growing and pivoting – not just adding up years.

Wirh that in mind, he then posed a pivotal question:

Even if you’re purpose-driven or thriving in a specific lane, can you shift your focus and delivery as needed?

Could you be convinced to expand your effort to a different lane?

I did that 20 years ago, when I left behind a thriving newspaper column (Inspirations) in winter 2006 to focus on writing more books and speaking.

That season morphed into others, and from each new lane of purpose and calling I’ve trod, I’ve met meaning and fulfillment and amazing people along the road.

What about you??

That podcast guest surmised that while who we are at our core should be steady, how we live out our purpose – or embrace that we may have more than one – can be a gamechanger for us and for every life we’re called to touch. Especially in an ever-changing world in need of ever-present hope.

Don’t sleep on you. Your life is calling you to rise to the occasion.

Let’s stay connected… If you’re not already on my author email list (which is different from this blog post subscription), now’s a great time to join me in both places! 8 Ways to Prep for the New Year

Hey You….

Are you ready to say farewell to 2025 and start anew in a few days?

Reflect,

self-assess,

shake it off,

forgive,

release,

rest up,

pray up,

and prepare to rise up

– into another level of giving your best, being your authentic self, and appreciating your unique journey.

Because each day you’re gifted to grace this earth is proof that there’s more for you to do, be or share.

And you can fit in some fun, too.

(The girlfriends who had me posing for this pic a couple of weeks ago are still giggling at our shenanigans that evening!) Lol

I’ve also connected with other great friends over the past two weeks with smiles, laughs, hugs, conversations and meals that have left us all mutually filled. 💛

Life is meant to be lived and loved – even with its imperfections.

So lean into your good parts, give thanks for the blessings resulting from all parts, and enjoy – even if that simply means pausing for a nap or sitting in stillness with a favorite beverage or dancing in your PJs to your playlist on rotation.

Make some memories today and tomorrow that make your heart smile, as you countdown with expectation for the year to come.

Gratitude at Every Age & Stage

It’s Capricorn season, and last week, I celebrated another birthday!

I am continuing my quest to grow and thrive at every age & stage,

and I am truly grateful for another year

– always, in all ways.

Whatever milestones January holds for you, perhaps you can use those

touchstones to set your course for the year ahead.

I’m grateful to celebrate another birthday and all good things to come!

Intentions vs Resolutions

As this year winds to a close and 2025 waves hello, be intentional about enjoying the life you’ve been gifted.

Make a few resolutions if this helps you get on track or stay on track with long-held goals. Perhaps choose a word for the year that will inspire you to focus and keep going.

Whatever you do, be intentional about what to devote time and energy to in the coming year and what to pause, release or sidestep.

Concentrate on embracing the intangibles that serve as the foundation for a meaningful life – unconditional love, hope and inner joy. Live. Laugh. Dance a little, too.

Lean into all that makes your heart beat a little faster and your peace grow exponentially, and be sure to honor your dreams and your purpose.

What I Know for Sure As 2024 Arrives

Happy New Year, my friend! As we set goals or resolutions for this shiny, new year before us (Welcome, 2024!), let us not forget the good, the great and the wow moments that have led us to this point.

Be grateful for what is to come, for sure; but also be grateful for what IS.

When we celebrate the beautiful things that already are, we can better appreciate the simple blessings that will proceed or accompany the longed-for visions that become our reality this year.

I encourage you to pull out a favorite journal and spend some time today making a list of the intangible gifts you already possess. I’ll start us off here….

What I know for sure?

– I am grateful to be healthy.

– I am grateful to be loved.

– I am worthy of self-care, mutual respect and seeing dreams come true (and so are you).

– I have a purpose greater than myself and walking in it gives me great joy.

– I am far from perfect, yet even so, I can render light and hope that blesses others, and for that I’m grateful.

I am leaning into these truths – these tiny miracles –  like never before in 2024, for these are life’s best gifts and graces.

Consider the truths of your journey and what you know for sure. Honor these blessings. Build upon them. Continue your becoming in 2024.

I am on the journey with you. Let’s go!!
